Valuation
P/E Ratio
Price-to-Earnings. How many years of current profit you are paying upfront. A P/E of 20 means you are paying 20 years of today's earnings to own the stock.

Risk
VIX
CBOE Volatility Index. The market's fear gauge. Above 25 = elevated fear zone. Below 15 = complacency. It measures how much the market expects prices to swing over the next 30 days.
💬 When VIX is high, everyone is scared. That's usually when the brave get paid.
Fundamental
Moat
A durable competitive advantage that protects a company's profits from competitors. Like a castle moat — the harder it is to cross, the stronger the business. BBCA's brand trust and distribution network is a classic IDX moat.
💬 Why can't a competitor just copy this tomorrow? If they can't — that's the moat.
Strategy
Compounding
Earning returns on your previous returns. Your money makes money, which makes more money. Rp 1M at 15% per year for 30 years becomes Rp 66M without adding another rupiah.

Valuation
EBITDA
Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortisation. A rough measure of operating cash flow — what the business earns before accountants and tax authorities take their cut.

Income
Dividend Yield
Annual dividends paid per share divided by the share price. A 5% yield means the company pays you 5% of the current stock price per year just for owning it — like rental income from shares.

Market
Bear Market
A market that has fallen 20% or more from its recent highs. Sustained pessimism. Falling prices. Everyone feels like an idiot for having invested.

Fundamental
Free Cash Flow
The actual cash a company generates after all operating expenses and capital expenditures. The purest measure of business health — harder to fake than earnings.

Strategy
DCA
Dollar Cost Averaging. Investing a fixed amount at regular intervals regardless of price. Buys more shares when prices are low, fewer when high. Removes the dangerous need to time the market.

IDX
IHSG
Indeks Harga Saham Gabungan — Indonesia's main stock market index. Tracks the performance of all stocks listed on the IDX. The heartbeat of the Indonesian capital market.
💬 If Indonesia Inc. had a report card, IHSG is the overall GPA. Watch it like a macro health check.
IDX
Rights Issue
When a company offers existing shareholders the right to buy newly issued shares, usually at a discount. Dilutes existing shareholders if they do not participate. Common in Indonesia for capital raising.
